What is the difference between rekeying and changing the lock?

Rekeying changes which key opens the lock. Changing the lock changes the lock. If your hardware is in good condition and your only concern is who has a key, rekeying does the whole job for less work and less waste.

How many keys will I get?

As many as you ask for, cut on site while we are there. It is worth thinking about the number before we arrive — a spare cut during the visit is trivial, a spare cut next week is another trip.

Can you cut a key from the lock if I have lost every key?

In most cases, yes — the cylinder can be read and a key originated from it, which is faster and less invasive than replacing the lock. Some restricted and high-security systems will not allow it without authority from the system's owner, which is exactly what those systems are for.

My key says 'do not duplicate'. Can you copy it?

Not without authority from whoever controls the system, and that is not us being difficult — a restricted key that anyone can copy is just an expensive normal key. If you are the owner or the authorised contact, we can arrange it properly.
