Spare Car Keys

There is a real and large difference between duplicating a key you still have and originating one when every key is gone. The first is quick. The second involves reading the vehicle, originating a blade and teaching the immobiliser from scratch — and it happens on the day you can least afford it.

Spare Car Keys

Make, model and year gets you a faster answer.

No obligation, and no price is quoted until someone has seen the lock.

What this covers

  • Duplicate keys cut and programmed
  • Spare proximity and remote fobs
  • Second keys for shared or family vehicles
  • Fleet spares
  • Emergency valet keys
  • Cut and coded at your driveway

Before you call

Have the make, model and year ready, and know roughly where the car is. Those three things decide what equipment the van needs on board, and getting them on the phone is the difference between one visit and two.

You will also be asked to prove the vehicle is yours — photo ID and registration papers, or the car registered in your name. There is no version of this work where that step is skipped.

Spare Car Keys — questions

Why not wait until I lose one?

Because the job is genuinely different. With a working key in hand it is a duplication; with none it is an origination, and it usually happens in a car park in the rain. The spare is the same key either way — only the circumstances change.

Can you make a spare at my house?

Yes. The car needs to be there, and so do you with proof of ownership, but nothing needs to go anywhere.

How many spares should I have?

Two working keys is the sensible minimum for any car anyone relies on, and three if more than one person drives it.
